What this service is

Tide Times Compare is an independent reference site. It republishes tide predictions computed and published by NOAA CO-OPS, a US federal agency, and it sells nothing: there is no enquiry form on this site, no listing anyone can buy, and no company appears anywhere in the data. We are not a navigation service and we are not a weather service.

How we are paid

Nothing on this site is paid placement, and no company can pay us to alter, add to or remove anything the tide index says, because the data is NOAA's and names no companies at all. Where an outbound link to a retailer appears it is marked, and it may pay us a commission if you buy: that is the only way money reaches this site, it never changes a figure on a page, and it is why we say plainly that advertisers do not pay us for the tables.

The tide index

The index pages republish NOAA CO-OPS predicted high and low water for the tide station named on each page, over the window stated there. Heights are feet above MLLW. These are PREDICTIONS, not observations, and NOT FOR NAVIGATION: weather, atmospheric pressure and river flow move real water levels away from them. Use the official NOAA tables for anything that floats.

No warranty

The site is provided as-is. We work to keep the index faithful to its stated NOAA source and window, and we make no warranty of any kind about the accuracy of a prediction or about the outcome of any decision taken using it.
